Questions relating to the funding of ATN (Automated Transit Networks)

I Feel that the only way systems will be built is with only government loans to cover initial installation and start-up costs. The systems should pay for themselves and pay the loans off quickly. Bus service charges, train service charges so should a system to save gas, time, frustration and other savings. A charge per mile traveled would provide the income required.

Was disappointing to see Greenville, NC solicitation with no government funding offered. How can PRT possibly compete with the automobile – a heavily subsidized mode – and other subsidized modes?

Yes, Greenville, SC, is basically asking for a transit solution for nothing. It will be interesting to see if they get any credible responses.
